Archery at the 2010 SSAA Shot Show

Sydney June 5 - 6

History was made on the week-end when Archery Australia, the Australian Bowhunters Association and the 3D Archery Association of Australia combined their resources for the first time to represent "Archery in Australia" to visitors at the Sydney venue.

The booth contained photo layouts of the 3 disciplines as well as 3D targets and archery equipment. A range of volunteers were present over the week-end to hand out brochures, information on local clubs and answer queries from a generally firearm based audience.

The archery range was well patronised with the instructors having to turn away a long queue so they could go home at the end of each day.

Over 5000 people visited the show each day and from the number of brochures handed out, archery clubs in the Sydney area at least should be in for a number of visitors in the coming months.

Activities such as these will continue in the future as the Associations find new ways to fulfill their member protection and sport advocacy roles.
