2005 CHANGES TO RULES OF SHOOT

1a. Membership card must be displayed & easily visible while on the range at all shoots. If a name is not on the current membership listing at registration, the archer will incur a $7.50 Temporary Membership Fee.

2. Double scoring is required. Score cards will be collected at the completion of each course. All score cards must be legible and completed to be accepted. When score card is turned into range official, it will not be subsequently changed. Inaccurate total may result in the elimination of that shooter.s card. Anyone who alters without authorisation, or falsifies a score or knowingly has a score altered or falsified shall be ineligible to compete in any 3D A.A.A. sanctioned event for one year. All score cards must be legible, completed and signed by both the archer and scorer to be accepted.

11. Ranges are to consist of 3-D type animal targets. Mixture of targets (size, type etc) is allowed providing they meet the official 3DAAA Target Policy.

17. Cameras or range finding devices are not allowed on any of the shooting ranges. Provided prior written approval is obtained from a member of the 3DAAA Committee, cameras may be taken onto a shooting range. Failure to observe the strict conditions of use as outlined in the approval is a violation of this Rule. Binoculars, monoculars and spotting scopes will be allowed with a maximum of 8x. Binoculars, monoculars and spotting scopes must not have any marks or graduations within the optical train, that in the opinion of the Committee, could be used to determine range. The use of an archers normal equipment or any part of the body as a range finding device is a violation of this Rule.

19c. Sights and v-bars must not extend more than 12 inches from the bow nearest the point of attachment.
STABILISER . Any device used for stabilisation of the bow.
NOTE: This rule has been amended to allow stabilisers in excess of 12 inches in all classes except Traditional, Hunter Class and Recurve Unaided

22. No alcoholic beverages or any other mind altering drug may be carried or consumed on any range or practise area by anyone during shooting hours including the Top 10 shoot outs.

Hunter Championship (HCHAMP) HAS BEEN DELETED

Male Bowhunter Fingers (MBF) A compound bow, recurve or long bow with fixed pins or moveable sight may be shot with a glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Cross hair style pins are allowable as fixed pin sights. Circle style pins are allowable (if circles are the same size). Pin sights may not be adjusted while on the range during a tournament. Men with a moveable sight or a lens shoot from the Orange stake and men with fixed pins shoot from the green stake .

Recurve Unaided (RU) A recurve or long bow with no sighting device. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window. There will be no markings on the bow or bow string that could be construed as sighting marks. There will not be any type of draw check on the bow or string. There may be only one (1) nocking point on the string. Must be shot with a glove, finger tab or with bare fingers. The arrows shall be of the same material and in uniform length and weight. There shall be a single stabilizer not in excess of 12 inches from the front of the bow. While shooting the archer shall touch the arrow with the index finger against the nock using a single anchor point. String and face walking are NOT permitted in this class. To be shot from the White stake.

Traditional Longbow (TRAD) All 3D AAA rules apply, plus traditional rules listed below. There is a 90lb maximum bow weight for this class only. Competitors shooting traditional longbow class will use a longbow defined as: A bow when strung, the string touches only the nocks of the bow. A bow at the shelf shall be cut no closer than 1/8 inch to the centre line of the bow. In case a bow cut centre shot is found, it may be re-qualified by adding a leather pad to a thickness that will meet the rules. Cushion plungers or mechanical adjustments shall not be permitted. No sights, stabilisers or counter balances shall be allowed. Attempts to circumvent this rule by building bows with massive or weighted handle-risers shall disqualify the shooter. Arrow shafts shall have a minimum of 125 grain points. Arrow shafts shall be identical in length, weight and colour; except for normal wear. Arrow shafts shall be restricted to wood. Strings shall have single colour middle serving with no marks. One string nocking point only is permitted. One or two nock locators, which may be snap-on type, tubing, thread or dental floss tied or served on the serving. Arrow should be shot from the shelf or hand with no elevated rest. Only a piece of leather or similar material 1/8 inch thickness or less shall be allowed on the arrow shelf.
